Mutable Futures: H&M Window Display Sculptures

We created 4 unique large-scale sculptures for the relaunch of H&M Flagship on Paseo de Gracia, Barcelona. Each sculpture is made up of hundreds of reflective shards of various shapes and sizes, much like the hyper reflective crystal interior of a geode.

Each of the summer outfits on display appear to be floating mid-air, surrounded by a glowing sculpture that reflects the sunlight and passers by on the mirrored crystals. Looking closely, you’ll see that the sculptures are intricately detailed, from the seamlessly integrated LED screens that change colour to complement each outfit, to the beautifully crafted aluminium tiles with anodised back plates that add to their timeless aesthetic. The custom vacuum-metalised mirror reflective ‘crystals’ sparkle as people walk by making them a part of the artworks.

These sculptures are designed to be reused and reinstalled in future. Their smart modular design allows them to be re-assembled into new shapes and installed in other locations in the future. This speaks directly to H&M’s mission to be more sustainable with its window displays.
