Google Cardboard

Google Cardboard

Google approached Hirsch & Mann to help them create a set of shop windows showcasing their Cardboard VR headset. The headset is a cheap, easily mass produced way of giving people access to virtual reality, unlike most companies whose headsets are hundreds of times more expensive.

Its not often products from big companies are made from card so we wanted to use the material as much as we could in the installation. We created a large cardboard wave, strewn with LED tape, creating a dynamic 3D screen. A large LCD display was covered in a large custom made Cardboard headset.

The installation was in 3 location across London (Tottenham Court Road, Fulham and Thurrock). One was also built and installed in Google HQ, Silicon Valley
